Gozo Day Trip – Wednesday 27th November, 2019 – Full Day
€65.00
A day trip covering the major parts of this idilic isle. The trip will include a visit to the following:
Xlendi:
Xlendi is a small tourist resort located in the Southwest of Gozo, in the Maltese Islands. Once a small fishing village, this bay, flanked by high cliffs attracts considerable crowds throughout the whole year
Ġgantija:
Ġgantija is a megalithic temple complex from the Neolithic on the Mediterranean island of Gozo. The Ġgantija temples are the earliest of the Megalithic Temples of Malta. The Ġgantija temples are older than the pyramids of Egypt.
Ta’ Pinu:
The Basilica of the National Shrine of the Blessed Virgin of Ta’ Pinu is a Roman Catholic minor basilica and national shrine located some 700 metres from the village of Għarb on the island of Gozo, the sister island of Malta. The church is dedicated to the Blessed Virgin of Ta’ Pinu.
Victoria:
Victoria (also known as Rabat) is the capital of Gozo Island, in Malta. It’s known for its medieval Citadel, with fortified walls. Within the Citadel, the Gran Castello Historic House is a folklore museum. Gozo Museum of Archaeology has prehistoric stone sculptures.
And of course, the Cittadella:
Cittadella, also known as the Castello, is the citadel of Victoria on the island of Gozo, Malta. The area has been inhabited since the Bronze Age, and the site now occupied by the Cittadella is believed to have been the acropolis of the Punic-Roman city of Gaulos or Glauconis Civitas. The Cittadella is a fortified city built on top of a hill and therefore it was intended to be an inaccessible place. The Cittadella Restoration Project has addressed this problem and has increased accessibility within the physical constraints of the site.
